Argus, the Bereft Vassal is a Hardmode boss and the only new boss added by the Infernum Mod. He resides in The Lost Colosseum, accessible after defeating the Lunatic Cultist, and summons Taurus, the Great Sand Shark (which no longer spawns outside of the subworld) during his fight. The Bereft Vassal battle and the Lost Colosseum can only be accessed in Infernum Mode, as teleporting to the Lost Colosseum requires the Infernum difficulty mode to be enabled.

While not required for progression, defeating the Bereft Vassal provides the player with money and several extremely useful and powerful items, including Infernum-exclusive weapons, along with Grand Scales which can be used to craft Calamity items that are buffed by Infernum to compensate for their shift in tier.

Spawn

The Bereft Vassal can only be accessed by using a Sandstorm's Core (the recipe of which now requires one Solar Fragment) on the Colosseum Portal in the Lost Gateway and then entering the Lost Colosseum. His fight begins when he is approached in the arena portion of the subworld.

Trivia

  • The Bestiary entry for the Bereft Vassal: "A vigilant guardian, once wandering without a purpose. Having learned that his king lives on, it'd seem that he has started to regain his will to live. He looks forward to fighting you again."
  • The Great Sand Shark's name, Taurus, is taken from the specific name of the sand tiger shark, Carcharias taurus.
