Behavior
In all of its phases, Signus performs attacks from a given attack pool in random order. However, it cannot immediately repeat an attack it has just used.
Most of Signus's attacks produce Cosmic Kunai in some way. Any currently active Kunai are despawned when the boss transitions to its next attack.

Kunai Dashes
- Signus briefly stops moving except for a slight upward drift, creating a telegraph line aimed directly at the player. The line shortly fades away and Signus dashes extremely quickly along it, leaving behind a trail of Cosmic Kunai.
- Cosmic Kunai briefly sit still while turning to face the player, then launch in the direction they come to aim.
- This attack occurs 3 times in a row.
- Signus always starts the fight with this attack.
Scythe Throw
- Signus teleports to a random position at a moderate distance from the player and sits still. After half a second, it creates a large and dense spread of telegraph lines in the player's direction, then fires Scythes along the lines in counter-clockwise order. The spread gradually becomes tighter as Signus loses health.
- Signus does not deal contact damage during this attack.
- This attack occurs 3 times in a row.
Horizontal Charge
- Signus moves quickly to the side of the player, then performs a fast horizontal charge once in position. At the start of the charge, it creates a broad semicircle of 10 Cosmic Kunai in front of itself.
- Signus will charge preemptively if it does not reach position in 1.25 seconds.
- This attack occurs 3 times in a row.
Shadow Dash
- Signus moves rapidly to the side of the player, then immediately stops and creates a telegraph line aimed directly at the player, as if to fake a Kunai Dash. Once in position, however, it accelerates slightly out of position and causes the world to fade to black.
- Once the world is completely black, Signus becomes intangible, teleports near the player ahead of their current movement, and pursues them with a rapid flurry of Shadow Slashes for 1.8 seconds.
- When the pursuit ends, the world fades back into view, Signus reappears ahead of the player and comes to a stop, and a harmless Cosmic Mine appears just ahead of the player. The Mine expands slightly for 1 second, then bursts into a large cloud of Cosmic Kunai.
- Signus does not deal contact damage when it idles after the pursuit.

Signus enters its second phase at 70% (382,271) health. In this phase and onward, the boss permanently creates a harmless illusion of itself that mirrors it horizontally. It also gains one new attack, performs most of its attacks slightly faster, and becomes more likely to perform Shadow Dash.
Cosmic Bomb Charge
- Signus is slightly more likely to perform this attack than others.
- Signus changes form, with dark tendrils protruding from its hood, and slowly moves to a position diagonally above the player. Once in position, it changes form to a horizontal posture with chomping teeth and dives to chase the player. Each instance of this chase ends when the boss gets sufficiently far below the player.
- Signus's chasing speed gradually increases as it loses health.
- During the chase, Signus constantly fires harmless Cosmic Bombs in the direction it is facing. Cosmic Bombs quickly come to a stop, project a large circular telegraph around themselves after existing for about 1 second, then burst into a Cosmic Explosion fit to the telegraph about 1.5 seconds afterward. Each bomb also creates one Cosmic Kunai when it explodes.
- This attack occurs 2 times in a row.

Tips
- Shadow Dash is a very dangerous attack, as it happens quickly and can punish the player heavily depending on their position. It is thus important to be prepared for it at any time.
- Signus's extremely fast start-and-stop movement is unique to this attack, making it a useful early tell to prepare to dodge sooner.
- Because Signus teleports predictively ahead of the player, the best way to avoid the Shadow Slashes is to change direction immediately after they appear. This can be done with items that cause strong acceleration, such as a dash from the Elysian Aegis or Statis' Ninja Belt, a quick launch and release of a hook, Myrindael's right-click attack, or the Celestial Starboard's hover.
- While Signus's rapid movement can make it difficult to hit, it spends much of its time either moving on a predictable path or not moving at all. This may allow weapons with lingering projectiles, such as Pristine Fury's right-click attack or Guidelight of Oblivion, to help damage it more consistently.
- Because Scythe Throw always fires in counter-clockwise order, moving counter-clockwise around the attack may give one more time to dodge it.
- During a Cosmic Bomb Charge, Signus turns and accelerates quite slowly, so it can be kited horizontally to extend the attack. This renders it much easier to hit for a while, especially with close-range options like true melee weapons.
