The Hive Mind spawns in a vulnerable, suspended state where it hovers without moving or doing anything for a short while. If it is hit in the suspended state, it roars and flies away to perform the next attack. It returns to this suspended state after performing an attack.

The Hive Mind performs attacks from the following attack pool at random:

Creature Spawn

  • The Hive Mind roars and spins in a short arc around the player, summoning Corruption Enemies.
  • It spawns 2 Eaters of Souls and 1 Dark Heart.
  • The Eaters of Souls attempt to hit the player normally, and the Dark Heart hovers above the player, raining harmful droplets onto them.
    • The Hive Mind will not spawn more Corruption Enemies if there are more than 2 Eaters of Souls or any Dark Hearts present.

Spin Charge

  • A giant rot cloud forms near the player, telegraphing the Hive Mind's charge.
  • The Hive Mind bursts out of the rot cloud, and spins twice around the player, firing Vile Clots at them at specific intervals.
  • It then directly charges at the player.

Shade Rain Dash

  • A stream of mist forms above the player, telegraphing the Hive Mind's dash.
  • The Hive Mind appears and horizontally dashes towards the player while hovering above them.
  • The dash leaves a group of Shade Nimbuses in its wake which rain down harmful drops.
