When summoned, The Plaguebringer Goliath moves quickly to the player's side and hovers there for a moment before beginning her attacks.

In her first phase, The Plaguebringer Goliath cycles through the following attacks in order:

Charge

  • The Plaguebringer Goliath moves quickly to the side of the player, then charges at them once she is in position. She releases Plague Clouds while charging, which drift slightly in a random direction and fade away after 1.5 seconds.
    • The Goliath will charge preemptively if she does not reach position in 1.5 seconds.
  • This attack occurs 7 times in a row.

Missile Launch

  • The Plaguebringer Goliath moves diagonally above the player, then stops moving and rapidly fires Plague Missiles from her stinger for 2 seconds. Plague Missiles chase the player weakly and burst into Plague Explosions when they hit the player or a solid tile, or after 3.5 seconds.
    • The Goliath cannot fire missiles higher than a 45-degree angle below herself.

Carpet Bombing

  • The Plaguebringer Goliath moves diagonally above the player, then charges horizontally, firing Plague Missiles diagonally downward from her stinger. Plague Missiles burst into Plague Explosions when they hit the player or a solid tile, or after 3.5 seconds.
    • The Goliath will charge preemptively if she does not reach position in 1.25 seconds.
  • This attack occurs 4 times in a row.

Plague Vomit

  • The Plaguebringer Goliath moves diagonally above the player, then stops moving and slowly spits Plague Vomits from her mouth for 3.5 seconds. Plague Vomits split into a ring of 7 Plague Seekers when they hit a solid tile, or after 2 seconds. Plague Seekers travel linearly for 0.93 seconds, then chase the player weakly for the next 1.57 seconds, then fade away.

The Plaguebringer Goliath enters her second phase at 75% (102,023) health, gaining three new attacks and the ability to charge diagonally. She cycles through the following attacks in order:

Charge

  • The Plaguebringer Goliath moves quickly to the side of the player, diagonally above them, or diagonally below them, depending on which position is closer to her. She then charges at them once she is in position. She releases Plague Clouds while charging, which drift slightly in a random direction and fade away after 1.5 seconds.
    • The Goliath will charge preemptively if she does not reach position in 1.5 seconds.
    • The Goliath alternates her charges' starting positions between a horizontal one and a diagonal one.

Vertical Bombing

  • The Plaguebringer Goliath moves quickly to the side of the player, diagonally above them, or diagonally below them, depending on which position is closer to her. She then charges at them once she is in position.
    • The Goliath will charge preemptively if she does not reach position in 1 second.
  • When her charge ends, the Goliath drifts to a stop and creates a dense, evenly spaced assortment of vertical line telegraphs in a large area around the player. The lines last 1.08 seconds, then vanish as Plague Missiles fall along them from above. Plague Missiles burst into Plague Explosions when they hit the player or a solid tile, or after 3.5 seconds.
    • The Goliath waits 1.5 seconds before attacking again.
  • This attack occurs 3 times in a row.

Carpet Bombing

  • This attack has a 50% chance to occur instead of Vertical Bombing.

Laser Drones

  • The Plaguebringer Goliath drifts to a stop. After 1.25 seconds, three waves of Small Drones appear around the player, with 0.75 seconds between each. The first wave consists of four drones in a square formation; the second, four drones in a diamond formation; and the third, six drones in a hexagon formation. Small Drones converge on the player very slowly and are connected to each other by Plague Rays. When a drone is killed, Plague Rays attached to it disappear.
    • Drones explode immediately if they hit the player or each other.
  • The Goliath waits 4.25 seconds after the last drone wave to begin her next attack.

Exploding Plague Chargers

  • The Plaguebringer Goliath moves quickly to the side of the player, diagonally above them, or diagonally below them, depending on which position is closer to her. She then charges at them once she is in position.
    • The Goliath will charge preemptively if she does not reach position in 0.42 seconds.
  • When the Goliath's charge ends, she drifts to a stop and rapidly spawns Explosive Plague Chargers for 2 seconds. Chargers fly slowly upward for 0.67 seconds, then chase the player aggressively, exploding on contact.
    • Chargers explode automatically if they live for between 6.67 seconds and 10.33 seconds.
  • This attack occurs 3 times in a row. The Goliath charges one additional time before beginning her next attack.

The Plaguebringer Goliath enters her third phase at 30% (40,809) health, gaining a new attack pattern and significantly faster Charges.

  • This attack occurs 8 times in a row.

Missile Rain

  • The Plaguebringer Goliath opens this attack by roaring and emitting a harmless shockwave.
  • The Goliath moves quickly to the side of the player, then does a long and slow charge in their direction once she is in position. She deals 55% more contact damage during a charge.
    • The Goliath will charge preemptively if she does not reach position in 1 second.
  • When the Goliath triggers her first charge, she begins constantly creating vertical line telegraphs at random positions in a large area around the player. The lines last 1.08 seconds, then vanish as Plague Missiles fall along them from above. Plague Missiles burst into Plague Explosions when they hit the player or a solid tile, or after 3.5 seconds. The missile rain lasts for the entire duration of the attack.
  • This attack ends once the Goliath has charged 6 times.

  • This attack occurs 2 times in a row.

Plague Nuke

  • A chat message appears, which reads "NUCLEAR CORE GENERATED. INITIATING BUILD PROCEDURE!" This is accompanied by a blaring alarm sound.
  • The Plaguebringer Goliath spawns 2 Big Builder Drones, 2 Small Builder Drones, and an incomplete Plague Nuke, and hovers above the player for the duration of the attack. Drones cannot take damage for 1 second after spawning.
  • The Plague Nuke hovers loosely near the player. The Builder Drones orbit it closely and construct it by firing green dust beams at it. Construction takes 11 seconds, after which the complete Plague Nuke becomes vulnerable and begins chasing the player. If the nuke is not killed within the next 2.5 seconds, it detonates, creating a screen-wide nuclear explosion that expands rapidly and lingers for 3 seconds.
  • When Big Builder Drones die or have existed for 10 seconds, they fire a random spread of 5 Plague Missiles. When Small Builder Drones die or have existed for 10 seconds, or when the Plague Nuke is completed, they fire 1 Plague Missile in a random direction. Plague Missiles chase the player weakly and burst into Plague Explosions when they hit the player or a solid tile, or after 3.5 seconds.
    • Drones of one type will also die immediately if both drones of the other type are killed.
  • If all builder drones die, construction is interrupted and the Plague Nuke falls to the ground, breaking into gore after 6 seconds.
  • Once the Plague Nuke dies or explodes, the Goliath continues hovering for 2 seconds before starting her next attack.

Tips

  • As two of the Plaguebringer Goliath's attacks require killing enemies to be avoided, it is ideal to make sure one has good and consistent damage output against her.
    • Close-quarters options such as true melee weapons are especially strong against Laser Drones, as the risks usually posed by their short range are very low during this attack. Otherwise, if the player's gear is too weak to kill the drones before they close in, a well-timed use of the Rod of Discord can place one outside of the Plague Rays.
    • Builder Drones can be difficult to hit due to their snappy and evasive movement. Homing weapons, explosive weapons, or latching weapons such as the Barracuda Gun can help kill them quickly.
