The Lunatic Cultist is a Hardmode boss. Defeating it is important to progression, as it drops the Ancient Manipulator and triggers the Lunar Events, both of which are important to summoning the Moon Lord.
Spawn
The Lunatic Cultist is summoned by killing the four Cultists at the Dungeon entrance, or by using an Eidolon Tablet when the Cultists are not alive and the Lunar Events are not active.

- A status message appears which reads "Celestial creatures are invading!", indicating that the Celestial Pillars have appeared in locations equally spaced across the map.
Tips
Trivia
- The Lunatic Cultist's subtitle, "Ancient Doomsayer", is also a removed future boss of the same name, being a buffed post-Moon Lord boss taking up the form of a Lunatic Cultist.
