Astrum Deus is a Hardmode boss which can be fought at any point in Hardmode, but is intended to be fought post-Lunatic Cultist. Defeating it allows the player to mine Astral Ore and provides other useful items, including all four Lunar Fragments, which makes the boss an efficient method of farming fragments without going through the Lunar Events.
Spawn
Astrum Deus is summoned by using either a Titan Heart or a Starcore on an Astral Beacon at night.

Aftermath
- A status message appears which reads "The seal of the stars has been broken! You can now mine Astral Ore.", indicating that Astral Ore can now be mined.
- Astral Crates can now contain Astral Ore, Astral Bars and Meld Blobs.
- Astral Slimes can now drop Astral Ore.
- Using Novae Slag or Celestial Remains in the Extractinator will have a chance of giving the player Astral Ore.
