The Cherished Sealocket is a Hardmode accessory dropped by Argus, the Bereft Vassal. When equipped, it creates a water forcefield around the player, that grants the following effects:
- +12% damage
- Getting hit for 120 or more damage in one hit decreases the hit's total damage by 60%
After decreasing the damage of 2 hits, the forcefield will dissipate, requiring the player to wait for 90 seconds before reappearing.
Notes
- Cherished Sealocket won't decrease the damage if The Sponge's shield has any durability.
- However, the shields of Rover Drive, Profaned Soul Artifact, Profaned Soul Crystal and Lunic Corps armor don't affect the accessory's ability to decrease damage.
- In contrast to other items that decrease damage, Cherished Sealocket doesn't grant additional damage reduction for a period of time, but decreases the hit's total damage by 60%.
- For the comparison, we will use Flesh Totem as an accessory that decreases the contact damage by 50%, and for the base numbers of defense, damage reduction and the hit's value, we will use 100, 10% and 300 respectively.
- The hit's total damage is calculated using the next formula:[1]
(damage - defense × difficulty factor) × (1 - damage reduction)
. - After substituting the numbers into the formula, we will get the following:
(300 - 100 × 0.75) × (1 - 0.375) = 140.625
, which is rounded up to 141 points of damage. - However, Cherished Sealocket decreases the hit's total damage, multiplying the result of the formula:
((300 - 100 × 0.75) × (1 - 0,0909)) × 0.4 = 81.8
, which is rounded up to 82 points of damage.
- The hit's total damage is calculated using the next formula:[1]
- The forcefield emits cyan-colored light.
- However, if Cherished Sealocket is placed in the vanity slots, the created forcefield won't emit light.
- If Cherished Sealocket decreaset the damage of the hit, splashes of cyan and blue colors will fly out from the player. This effect is identical to on-hit splashes of Perditus.
- ↑ The formulas are taken from the defense and damage reduction pages on Calamity Wiki.
- If the player has the Cherished Sealocket equipped in an accessory of vanity slot and there is a (wo)mannequin on the screen with the Cherished Sealocket equipped, the player's forcefield will use the dye equipped on the (wo)mannequin and not the dye equipped on the player's Cherished Sealocket.
Trivia
- This accessory is based on the forcefield used by the Bereft Vassal during the fight.
