As of now, the Infernum Mod has completed development and no more content is planned to be added. However, some players may experience issues while playing, or just have questions about the mod which this page will aim to answer. If you still have questions after reading this page, feel free to join the Infernum Discord server linked on the main page.

Multiplayer

  • Is this mod multiplayer-friendly?
    • Several efforts have been made to try and stabilize Infernum's multiplayer experience but since the mod has not been made with multiplayer support as a priority, some features may not function as intended.
  • What about the Infernum Multiplayer Patch?
    • As of the 2.0 update, nearly all features of the aforementioned patch have been included into the main Infernum Mod. Do note that this patch is unofficial and separately maintained. However, it does work alongside Infernum as of January 2024.

Mod-mixing

  • Can I mix other content mods with this?
    • It is not recommended to mix other content mods alongside Infernum as they may cause several issues.
  • What about world-generation?
    • Due to the extensive changes applied to the world-generation by Calamity and Infernum, adding any other mod (content-focused or not) which alters world-generation has a high chance of overlapping with Infernum features.

Non-standard difficulties

  • Why is Master/For The Worthy/getfixedboi not supported?
    • Non-expert are not supported due to the fact that an inordinate amount of effort would be required to create content up to the required standard for 3 separate difficulties.
  • Can I enable support for these myself?
    • Yes! There are instructions in the code on how to enable the toggle for these difficulties should you want to do so. There are also unofficial Master/Legendary Mode patches available.
      • Do note that using FTW with Infernum will potentially have adverse effects on world generation, most notably the Golem arena in the Jungle Temple.
      • Additionally, it is not currently possible to create a getfixedboi world with Infernum due to several unsupported conflicts with the seed.

Content-related

  • Why is my Abyss different?
    • Infernum reworks the Abyss, you can read more here.
  • Why isn't the Great Sand Shark spawning in normally?
  • Are there any changes in progression from Infernum?
    • Yes, in addition to the shifted tier of the Great Sand Shark, the Primordial Wyrm is shifted from the endgame to post-Yharon.

Bugs

  • My game crashed/something isn't working, what do I do?
    • Remove all your non-essential mods (everything apart from Calamity, Infernum, Subworld Library, and Luminance) and see if the issue persists. Slowly enable more mods to identify what's causing the issue.
  • The conflicting mod isn't a content/worldgen mod or doesn't seem to be any sort of potentially disruptive mod? What should I do?
    • Report the issue to both that mod's forum and the Infernum Discord server. Do note that these mods could be incompatible with each other so the issue might not be easily fixable from either side.
  • My world generation's messed up! There's biomes and structures messily clashing all over the place!
  • The issue I'm facing isn't mentioned here, what should I do?
    • Head over to the Infernum Discord server and report your issue, following the guidelines in the bug-reports section.
